RE: engine noise
All C-class kompressor cars are supercharged, not turbocharged, and the supercharger doesn't turn on or off......it's
working all the time. A clicking/ticking noise when you accelerate could be many things. I'd rather not guess on this one.
Can the noise be heard if you had the car parked with the hood open and just revved up the engine? Or does it only do it
out on the road under a load? And, if it does do it with the car standing still, can you try to pinpoint the part of the engine
you hear it from?

RE: engine noise
OK>my suggestion would be to let an experienced MBenz mechanic listen to that sound with the hood open while you sit in the
car and give it gas. It could be injector noise, lifter noise, or many other unrelated things. The one thing you DONT want to do at this
point is start guessing what it MIGHT be and start replacing things. That is going to end up costing you a lot more than diagnosing
it and fixing only what the problem is. I think this is good advice. You don't have to go to the dealership if you don't want to. There
are plenty of MB independents out there that can do this. But this is really the way to go to pin it down and not waste time and $$$.
