The best bet is to look for his/her past feedbacks on that specific item.

Be alert that the seller has 71 negative feedbacks.

Ebaying = gambling. You are never sure of what you buy unless it is NIB from a reputable seller.

I LOVE Ebay!

Good advice on buying on eBay. But remember if it seems too good to be true, it possible is, especially on ebay. At least my experience has shown. but I must admit I have gotten some good bargains also. I am so, so on eBay. Interesting the women who is CEO of the company formally worked for the Hasbro Toy Co, as director of Mr Potato Head Sales. They own the old Milton Bradley Co, not to far from here and I met her a couple times before she bailed to eBay. Very, Very talented person and has brought eBay into the 21 century. The sell $85K a minute and gross $4.5 billion dollars a year. They are considered the second largest retail company in the world after Wal Mart.

Be carefull with E-bay.

Make sure to read the sellers negative feedback, that way you can get an idea of what they are like to deal with.

In other words, if it sounds like they are trying to rectify simple complaints then it may be worth the risk .... but if they are not "STEP AWAY FROM THE COMPUTER" .... LOL

Really though.... check them out before taking the plunge with your cash.

cheers,
TJ

Very good advice, I've read some very bad feedback on body kits, supposed to be the "real thing" fit problem, breaking when installed. So to the original write please be very cautious and follow SL600 cruzin good advice.

My roommate once bought an sdram memory on eBay for his computer.

He was looking for a 1-Gigabyte sdram. One listing said that it was selling a 1024 Mb sdram, on which my roommate thought he had found a bargain. So he bought it and paid for it. A couple of days later he received a 128 Megabytes sdram from that seller.

He contacted the seller & the seller said that it was as written on the auction. 1024Mb = 128MB (1 byte = 8 bits) [:'(]

Luckily he paid it by credit card via paypal. He filed a dispute that the seller was trying to mislead buyers and he got the money back. That's a good practice not to send cash or Money Order when buying online. So, have good credit cards handy.

I had a similiar situation with software. I bought an upgrade for Microsoft office. When it arrived it was legit, had the numbers etc. When I started to download it, I got a message that this software is not compatable with your present Office software and is intended for new installations only.

I emailed the seller who at first didn't answer and told him his auction said nothing about new installs only, he eventually replied and said I should know this anyway??? I immediately filed a complaint on Pay pal and received a full refund and apology and the seller told me to keep the software as it was opened and worhtless to him. Since then my son has downloaded it on a new computer in placed of wordperfect, which is not a favorite of mine either.

I also bid and won a XP OS, from another vendor, it was for new installations only, but he mentioned this on his auction. $75.00 plus S/H. I didn't use it as a new install but went into the bios settings and confirgured it so the computer would boot off the software (older computer, that I rebuilt last summer running 2000, and it downloaded and hasn't been a problem since. Again this was also a legit product, but before I loaded it I had to register it with Microsoft. I was concerned that microsoft might detect if was not a new install, and believe me they can, Big Brother is watching, but had no problems with that.

As I mentioned in a earlier post on this string CNBC had an hour special on eBay yesterday and presented the good the bad and the ugly from sellers and users. One thing I learned from the show is contact the seller right way, if what you bought is not what was represented and if the seller doesn't reply within a couple of days, according to how you pay file a complaint with eBay or Paypal ASAP.

yes the deal is amazingly cheap. it just costs a little bit more than the front lip i put on mine. i suggest u write to the buyers who once bought the same kit and see what they think. far as experience goes, people tend to be very nice and write back.
