Default 89 300C Stalls when in Drive

So, I'm new to MB, and to the forum. Bought my first Benz, an 89 300E with 130k miles. In great shape aesthetically (perfect paint / interior), and seems to run strong. I've had it for a month.

Anyway, all of a sudden today, the car stalled, then wouldn't run. I took a quick drive from home to the highway (2 miles), then 3 miles on the highway. While waiting for the light to turn on the exit ramp, the car stumbled a bit, then stalled. It would re-crank, but once dropping it in D it'd stall again. Would idle okay in P, and idle/rev fine in N, but stall right away in D. Fortunately my wife was behind me, and drove me the rest of the way to our destination. An hour later, I came back, and the car started fine. I drove to work (about 5 miles), and it idled fine in the parking lot at work. Drive home, started a bit rough, but made it home okay. However, the ABS light was on. Idled again at home for a bit okay. A few hours later I started her back up, and everything seemed back to normal (no ABS light).

I'm concerned, as I don't want to ignore a problem, and it makes me nervous, as I bought this car to transport my young kids (my other car is an RX7), and I don't want to end up stalled on a highway with an 19 month old and a 2 month old...

Ideas?

Otherwise, I am LOVING my car... :-)
