I have a '99 C230 with the Bose audio package and speed sensitive automatic volume control. The changes is audio volume seem to have no rhyme or reason, and they're driving me nuts. Is there any way to shut this feature off???

 

Yes, you have to cut a wire in the back of the head, I forget what color, call a dealer they will tell you. Also you will need special tools to remove the radio. I like the speed feature, but find it interested that I previously had a BMW with this feature and it was adjustable on the head unit, but the Bose system in my Mercedes doesn't adjust. Has anyone written Bose and asked why? if not I will. In fact there headquarter is about 70 miles east of hear, maybe I will pay them a visit.
