I have just purchased a c180 auto on a p reg (1997).

When I start it in the morning - it tries to stall if I don't have my foot on the accelerator and then when I get do start to drive it - until the temp gauge is up 80 degrees it feels like the car will not come out of second gear. After that it is fine and will run fine all day, start fine and run fine.

Any ideas?

Car is brilliant by the way

 

Possibly renew the Air filter and maybe check the MAF/MAS sensor.
