Coil pack and spark plugs

Coil pack and spark plugs
Does anyone know where you can obtain the coil pack wrench I have been told is necessary for changing the spark plugs on a 1998 C280? Have searched the net and found nothing so far, maybe I am not looking in the right place. I just can't pay someone $800 to change spark plugs. I know the coil packs are fragile, but if the idiots at our local dealership can do it I would hope I can.

RE: Coil pack and spark plugs
There is no “special tool” do doing this job.
The book calls out to use an open-end wrench and a spark plug wrench (see pics)
The open-end wrench is to aid in (carefully) removing the spark plug boots from the spark plugs, I use a spark plug boot removal tool which is specifically made for just that.
The coil packs are held on with an Allen (socket) head bolt or torx (socket) head bolt. (Can’t remember exactly which one right off the top of my head) These are nothing special and can be found at almost any auto parts store.
Use some dielectric grease on the inside of the spark plug boots and a small amount of anti-seize lube on the spark plug threads.
Torque for the spark plugs is (18ft – 20ft lbs)
Spark Plug Gap is 1.0mm
There are 12 spark plugs and it will take you a while to do it. Approx. 3 hours
Plug Type:
Bosch F 8 DPER
or
Beru 14 FGH 8 DPUR X 2
hope this helps

RE: Coil pack and spark plugs
The Torx head wrench is for the coil packs. I use a sparkplug wire tool for the plug wires myself, just a personal choice. Your also correct be very careful with both the coil packs and the spark plug wires. The packs are pricey.
NEWS; I am looking at a E320W today 2000 loaded 36K plus miles startmarked and very clean, the price as usual is high $28,900 I believe, but I am fhave a plan on the pricing.
