Cluster replacement.New cluster shows dashes on odometer instead of actual milage?
2002 mercedez-benz C320
My speedometer went bad and purchased a used one from ebay.I removed the old cluster and inserted the new one.Everything worked except it did not display the milage but instead displayed dashes( ----- ).I then reinserted my old one and it displayed the milage.So does this mean that there is something wrong with the new cluster?
The person I purchased it from believes I may have to take it in to the dealer. Thanks for your help on this.

Do you know how much they usually charge? Is this something I can do myself to save some bucks$$?
