Hi, my 2006 C230 Sports Sedan makes this weird clicking (tak tak) noise when i step on the brakes n let go of it in reverse. the moment i let go of the brakes it makes the sound, does anyone have this problem as well? or is this something normal? thx ! ^^

did u recently put in new wheels or new lug bolts?

 

nope done nth to it, jus got the car and it has that sound, my salesman told me its cuz of my sports brake but i m not so sure bout that...:S

 

my take is that -- the rear wheels have got wrong bolts and they are interfering with the emergency brakes; that's how the click clack sound is made.

do the rear wheel lug bolts look new? are the rear rims not original?

 

the car is brand new everything is stock, i actually went in for service to fix it, they said they fixed it, but it still had the same sound so i dunno~

 

mine does the same thing- '06 c230 6spd. i have narrowed it down to something with the tc. not sure how the tc works on this car- so i can't pinpoint it yet. it only does it when i have the tc turned on- doesn't do it when it's turned off. i have driven a couple other '06 c230's- they did the same thing. nature of the beast i guess?

 

My '03 slk230 does the same thing. However my '03 C230 doesn't do it.... Go figure

 

yeah thats strange... just bought a 98 c280... that thing does the SAME thing. kind of makes me a little angry but whatever... is this a problem that we should be worried about?
