My dads C280 dash from time to time stops working; it still reads all the mileage and the gas light works but none of the analog gauges move up or down and then sometimes it just works perfectly; it has been happening more often lately. Im hoping you guys can help me out and tell me if its a relay or how to fix it. Thanks for the help

 

I have a c240 going thru the same and when the dash stops the cooling fan goes in fast speed. I took it to the dealer to have it checked and they told me was the alternator. I replaced it and still the problem persists.
