Default C240 vibration

here's one for the masters to diagnose:

2002 C240, 6spd, 77000 miles, new tires, super smooth EXCEPT a liitle vibration that you can feel inthe whole car.it is veryslight, so much sothat passengers don't even notice it when i say "do you feel that?". i can feel it inthe steering wheel and the shift lever, sometimes even in the pedals. it is slight enough that i get used to it, there is no visible shaking of the steering wheel. it seems to increase in frequency with speed, but it is there at any speed. at slow speeds when there is no wind noise, and the road is super smooth, i can hear a noise that almost sounds like paper flapping in the wind; the first time i heard it i though i must have had something caught on the car. This noisesounds like it is cominmg from the front of the car...

any Sherlocks have an idea? thanks

Check the engine mounts, all three of them.
