C230 Kompressor Air Conditioner
The air compressor on my 2003 c230 died recently. My mechanic started with replacing the unit as well as the condensor and switches, however, we still have a leak. I understand that the evaporater is up under the dash. Should we just go ahead and start the process of replacing it or are there other steps we should check first?
Thanks

Just be aware that it's a huge job labor-wise. HUGE. That thing is buried in the dash and there's a lot to remove. The part isn't cheap but the labor will kill you. I did one myself on my last car, a 3-series BMW, and I still have nightmares about it. Just thought you'd want to know.

well if the evaporator is leaking you will see yellow dye...if you used dye,....coming out of the evaporator water drains, which are beside the transmission oil pan. dye usually helps locate the leak. sometimes the fill valves themselves leak.
