I am interested possibly purchasing a c230k i am really having a hard time finding info about the quality of the car. ex. are they mechanically a good car? What are some common problems? Do the 1.8l have some power behind them? Most of the stuff i have seen have been people bashing them. year range i would like 2000-2005. I would appreciate hearing back from some owners with comments on whether they are worth buying or if i should stay clear.

Well..........I own an '05 with 103,000 miles on it now, and it has not been without some major problems.
Having said that, there are going to be people who say they've had no problems to speak of. So, there you are.
Hard to say if you're going to have any given problem, as with any car. I had a BMW and had a lot of problems.
Same thing....lots of people had 3-series cars and had no problems. I might suggest an extended warranty, something I rarely buy. These cars can be pricey to fix if something were to go south, especially something major. Thank god I had
an extended warranty on mine, because the supercharger went south at about 65,000 miles. (OUCH!). Other people
have had better luck with theirs. Who knows. I think you'd be happy with the car myself. They run pretty good and get
good mileage......mine gets about 26 in the city and about 30-31 on the highway cruising at 65mph. Not too bad. I have gotten 33.5 max going to Las Vegas. Not as smooth and quiet as a V-6, but still OK acceleration. Good luck.
