About the only thing you need to break-in nowadays are the brakes. Take it very easy for the first few hundred miles. Don't jam the brakes hard. Don't get them "hot" by racing down a winding mountain road. Get about 100 city miles and about 500 highway miles on the brakes to break them in.
A lot of people like to get the first oil and filter change after about the first 500-1,000 miles. It's not as critical as it used to be, but it never hurts the engine to change the oil and filter. It just hurts your wallet sometimes.

normally, after i overhaul repair the transmission... i floor down the accelerator and drive as hard as i could. this will put all those seal rings in good position and i can find out immediately what else is need to be done.
just drive the way you do. it will adapt on your driving style.
