C180 purge valve help!!
I had a problem with my car not starting properly. Took it to the garage who originaly told me i had put contaminated petrol in it.
He replaced the fuel filter and air mass meter.
Now i have got the car back it is still not running right. It keeps stalling whenever i slow down. The car re-starts and runs fine until i slow down again.
Having looked on here i think i might be the purge valve. Having already forked out £400 on repairs that did'nt work i am seriously skint.
Can somone tell me hoe hard it is to change the purge valve myself.
Also it you have any suggestions as to what you think the problem is.
many thanks

Purge valve / removal
Purge valve is component of the evaporative emission control system. Disconnect the wiring from the purge valve, disconnect the hoses from the purge valve noting their order of connection. Release the valve from it's clip and remove it from engine bay.
How to test purge valve? Warm up engine and hold it in your hand. You should feel pulsing like heart beat which mean that purge valve is OK. If not, valve is sticky and need to be clean with compressed air on both pipes. Also add a little WD40. If this does not work you need to replace it as I described above.

Wrong gas
Filling your car with the wrong gas could possibly ruin the fuel system and cause problems with carburetor. You need to access the carburetor, fuel lines and drain fuel tank. After that, put correct fuel in the tank and try to turn engine over. Try it 2-3 times. You already spent money for nothing.
