What is diesel purge might I ask? I own an 84 diesel..

 

diesel purge is a chemical solution to throughly clean the injector pump and fuel injectors. you must find the fuel feed and return lines under the hood and run your own fuel lines to a plastic bottle. i used an old rinsed out gallon container from welches grape juice. run intake line to the bottom and run return line into container. pour diesel purge into container and start engine. suggest a warm engine and run engine at various speeds and idle until purge is mostly used up. in other words do not let the feed line suck air. replace lines, primary and secondary fuel filters. my 81 300cd ran soooooo much better after this treatment. i would recommend it to anyone.
