I Have a 2005 C180 with 100,000kms. when the engine is cold it sounds rough and noisy. within seconds the noise goes away. a service consultant at NMI told me it is probably the timing chain? R40,000 to fix and 3 weeks with no car? surely that cannot be right with only 100,000kms? any help please.

 

Doubt it's your timing chain! Chances are it's your belt tensioner!!!
