Default C180 acceleration problem.

Hi there, I have a 1997 C180, and I have what I beleive to be a problem with the MAF sensor, now I recently changed the MAF sensor as I was having issues when starting the car, ie it wouldnt idle until warm. The new MAF fixed this issue, however I now have an intermitant problem when taking off the car has no power. Literally no power, I give it some throttle no revs, nothing, this usually occurs when the car is warm, has never occured when the car is cold. The car appears also to be holding gears longer than it should, it did not do this prior to the new MAF.

I have taken the car to the auto electrician and of course it didnt play up whilst he had it there, but he suggested the new MAF might be the problem (its not a genuine bosch, but the part number is correct ie 280 217 114, bought it from the UK from Ebay, could be a dud I guess). No error codes were present.

Today I basically unplugged the MAF, running with out one right now (I know its a bad idea), now the issue is gone, no stuterring no problems at all. Gears changing smoothly (5 speed auto).

I beleive this is pointing that the problems I were having were related to the new MAF, would my logic be correct here?

I am now thinking of getting a geuine Bosch part to replace the old one, do you guys think I am on the right track?

Regards

Mark
