I have just bought a 1996 C180.

The car is just beautiful, but I notice that it always starts in second gear, and is very sluggish on acceleration.

Is there a way to accelerate from standstill a little quicker??

Any suggestions are appreciated.

there should be a W/S button I guess near the gear. Switch that to S and it might start from the first gear.

 

Thanks, that did the trick. She's like a rocket now... well "rocket" is a little optimistic, but a great little car. I've had Merc's for the last 20 years, my last on did 633,000 kilometres, but heavy and not economical.
