Bought the 240 C - few questions
I made the decision and bought a 2004 240C. My first Mercedes. It did not have an owners manual and I am going to order one but I had a couple questions.
1) I see a buttom that has C or S right by the gear shifter. What does this do?
2) There is a button on the dash that has a car that looks like it being towed - what does this do?
So far the car is great!

2fast4u is right about the tow truck button. My 2001 has s and w. They changed the letters at some point. The s is standard. In s it will take off in 1st gear and hold gears before shifting for good performance and response. w is for winter. It will take off from a stop in 2nd gear and upshift quicker to reduce the torque and deter slipping. People complain about our cars, but I'm pretty willing to bet by 2004 alot of bugs were fixed. I like mine alot.

I have a 2005 c240 and I have a quick note manual, and C is for "comfort"- it takes off in 2nd gear. S is for "sport" - it takes off in 1st gear much faster. Now I didn't know that the car on the hook was the alarm tho. Is it?

I remember the dealer telling me when we picked up the car that the tow truck switch disables the alarm for towing. The alarm will apparently go of if someone jacks it up to take a wheel or something. That all I know....
