I am new to the forum but learned alot reading off here when I had my '98 slk230, so I wanted to create an account.

I have read alot about removing the badges on here and thought about it for a while, then decided to go with it. I never thought I would want to do this but it is a clean look. So here is what I did.

1) washed and dried well.
2) no heat just flossed one letter at a time
3) used goo gone to remove 3m sticky.

Then I am left with harsh lookin outline of grime where the numbers were.
I used clay with plenty detail spay lube, then followed with polish that came with the clay kit and looks perfect except in certain light you can see outline of the badge. I forgot to mention the car is white .

My question is will this go away over time?

 

any brand bug and tar remover, let it soak and rub till you turn blue in the face. goodluck
