Default ac problems?

hello guys,

this is my first post, hope to join in little more from now on.
I have a problem with my 2000 c 230. AC was working fine last summer and since I didnt use the car much this year I just had it recharged today but I realized it is still blowing warm air. AC clutch is not kicking in at all. I was wondering if the ac relay could be the problem and where is it located/is it hard to replace it? Just wanted to see what are my options before i take the car to dealership? any suggestions?

thanks!

was it blowing warm air when you took it in for svc? why did the tech let you leave w/o it working?

Assuming that your system is similar to most others: there isn't a relay, the a/c clutch receives on / off input from the computer for driver demand. The system is protected from damage by sensors (refrigerant & evap temp and refrigerant pressure).

If you paid the tech take it back, if you did not then stay away.

I can't help you with your problem, but I have an even crazier problem.

Currently the A/C works in 3 vents. For some reason, however when running the far left vent blows hot air, while the rest blow cold.

Anybody have any thoughts? I wouldn't think what I'm describing would even be possible, if I didn't witness it myself.

thanks,

paul

Perhaps the flap door isn't opening on that vent? Some cars have separate flaps doors for heat and AC for the corner vents and one for the middle vent. These are usually vacumn operated. but on a Mercedes who knows?

hot air
not warm air?

do actuations of the flaps individualy to see if it works. (by using the a/c pushbutton unit).

can be: flap, water valve or lack of freon.

How do you do that? Which buttons. If you can help I would appreciate it, I have a 1995 C220.

EC is suppose to be on when AC is on or not? It works when I put it on.
