98-99 C-Class Recall!!
I am Happy to see that the W203 C-Class Benz is free of all recalls!!!!!! However for those of you who have a 98-99 C-Class benz, this is what I picked up, thought you may find this interesting
Problem: Battery could explode.
Models: 65,731 cars with Hoppecke battery made 4/97 to 6/99. Hazard exists because battery maintenance schedule might let too much time pass between servicing to maintain proper electrolyte levels. Low electrolyte levels could cause battery to spark or cells to rupture, possibly resulting in explosion.
What to do: Have dealer inspect and, if necessary, replace battery. Dealer will also provide labeling for owner's manual and engine compartment that reminds owner and service technician of the need to perform periodic maintenance.
