If you don't already know Mercedes are recalling some "UK" C-classes from 2001, problems with battery. I have booked my car in with mercedes today to have the battery replaced free of charge.

 

What is the problem with the UK battery, mine is a 2001 c320 and it all seems fine.

I'm a little reluctant to let them replace it when it's ok.

no recall, but they can always replace it if found to be defective in a year.

It will be the responsibility of the dealerships to send out the letters to their customers to inform them of this measure. Furthermore we can assure you that there is no fire risk involved.

okay, it's service measure for right hand drive only in UK.

they didn't use felt batteries which cause fast discharge.
