Default 2005 c240 4matic/ Drivers side axle shaft

I'm looking for some advice on a drivers side CV axle removal. I did the passenger side last year. I ended up changing the outer boot only because I wasn't able to pull the axle shaft completely out of the transmission, It was a bit of a nightmare. Thank God it was the outer boot that needed to be replaced. This time since it's the inner boot on the driver's side I planned on pulling the axle and replacing the entire thing. Is it easier than the passenger side? in case the boot separates while pulling on it is it more accessible to be able to pull the shaft extra hard if needed. ( more grabbing area or room for a pry bar) My other question is the C clip, Is that something to worry about that when I pull the shaft out if it's difficult to remove? Will it end up inside the transmission somewhere? Is the driver side system a lot different from the passenger side? So I guess this question is, Is the driver side axle shaft removal an installation a lot easier than the passenger side on a Mercedes C 240 4Matic?

WOW no reply?? I bought an outer one cut it down the middle then slip it over the axle. I then glues it after putting grease it . I used flex seal water proof and 8 months later it still holds.
That saved me so much time and money when the inner boot fails.
