2005 C230K Gas Guzzler @ 33,000 miles?
Hey everyone,
I have some concerns on my pre-owned Mercedes c230k that I purchased, it has around 33,000 miles on it and I only use what's stated on the gas door "Premium Gas". After driving to and from work I notice that the car is a Gas Guzzler, I don't even drive more than 30 miles to and from work and I find myself pumping gas two or three times a week. Right now premium gas here is at around $3.25 to $3.45 per gallon , it's not cheap to fill up the entire tank full.
Could something be wrong with my car? Should I take it in to the dealership to have them check it out? I drive the car in the "S" mode which is "Sport Mode" according to my owners manual, should I drive in "C" mode which is "Comfort Mode" will that save me gas? I have searched on these boards for info on the difference but I can't find anything that will narrow down the advantage of the difference in driving modes.
All information will be appreciated...

RE: 2005 C230K Gas Guzzler @ 33,000 miles?
This is my first post here but I have been driving for a while. I must say that there has to be either a bit of exazageration about how much you fill your tank or your milage is not correct, or there is something VERY VERY wrong with your car. If you are filling it up twice a week and only driving 30 miles round trip for work then you are getting about 4.5 miles per gallon. That is assuming you are working 5 days a week. If you fill it up 3 times you are getting about 3 miles to the gallon. What you really need to do is fill it up. Write down your milage. Then when you fill it up write down how many gallons it took you to fill up. Then write down your milage again. This way you don't have to worry about trusting what the comp. is telling you about your gas milage. If you drove 250 miles and it took you 13 gallons to fill it up your getting 19.23 miles per gallon. If your driving in sport mode and have a heavy foot, your milage will suffer greatly. Usually gas milage is directly related to how hard you push your foot. I've seen some vehicles when driven very easy get 28 miles per gallon, then that same vehicle driven hard only get 17 per gallon. Big difference by just the way it was driven.
