Hello, I have just purchased a MB C230K 2002 model. I have got the BAS and ESP being activated after a short while of driving. When I switch the engine off it resets and then comes on again when I drive after a short while.

I went to a mechanic and he says its a common problem and does not know how to fix it....Rubbish! Its now starting to annoy me. I just want to get it fixed. Is there any suggestions as to what the problem is and how to get it fixed.

PLEASE HELP!

 

It could be the steering sensor alignment problem as mentioned elsewhere in the forum.
The solution suggested is to 1. turn on the engine
2. turn the steering wheel full from left to right and back to left.

Yeah Ive tried this but it kieeps coming back. Does this just fix the problem temporarily?

How is your battery? Low battery or bad alternator (especially if you are using accessories that draw a lot of current like a big stereo) can cause the reserve level to go so low that the car's computer shuts off ABS and BAS because there may not be enough power avaible to adequeatly service them in an emergency.

 

Hi, the battery is fine on my car just had it checked. What else could it be?
