1999 C280 Battery Removal & Replacement ?
I'm a pretty tech savvy guy, so when I went ot NTB and they told me the replacement battery for this car was only 90 dollars installed, I figured I could make it even cheaper by replacing the battery myself.
I need advice on which side to disconnect first and which side to reconnect first (pos or neg), and any other vital steps that need to be taken other than just replacing the battery (ie radio disconnect, etc.)
Is it as simple as swapping one for the other? Any help is appreciated!

When removing, disconnect the negative side first.
When installing, connect the positive side first.
Don't let either cable touch any metal parts of the car while you remove or install.
Check your owner's manual for procedures and unlock codes used after a power loss.

( Blank Screen - No power ) after replacing a battery. The problem you had back in 2003.

You definitely have to remove the ground wire first. Put new batt in. Then connect ground wire last. Otherwise, sparks will fly. Or you can put duct tapes like me.

I know ths one's late, but for the poster who asked about the radio, it turns out the problem was my AMP. The radio did start working again after the battery was replaced, and then it produced no sound. Like I said, I replaced the amp and it worked again.
