Hi there. I am looking to get some advice on a problem with my FIL's 1998 C230. Presently, the radiator fan starts running as soon as the car starts. I looked around a bit for a fan relay and didn't find one. The fan speed is at first slow and it speeds up a bit but still seems like it's running slow (20% speed). I traced the wiring and there is a device about 1/2 way up on the driver's side of the fan shroud and then the harness runs up the driver's side fender and into the fuse box.

I did find the 40 am fuse that is in line with that circuit, but it appears that I am unable to locate a relay as I would think belongs here.

Maybe this fan is being pulse modulated to control its speed.

Anyone know more about this model?
