1997 C230 Fuel injector problem
I have a 1997 C230 and the cylinder closest to the fire wall has an injector problem. I swapped it with another injector from another cylinder and it is not the injector. When I disconnect the wire to that injector I get no change in the engine. When remove any of the others I have a noticeable change. While driving down the freeway this past Saturday the check engine light came on and the car started running poorly. I also checked the plugs and the coils and it is not any of those so I have narrowed it down to an injector problem. Could it be the computer? Any input is appreciated Thanks

I'm having a similar problem.Did you get the computer checked? Autozone and Advance Auto will do it for free (the ones near me). Anyway, my problem is with the front O2 sensor. The after market parts don't seem to work for my 03 C230.
There are some really good informative posting on the site if you do a search. Good Luck.

The level of training and test equipment at an Autozone is far inferrior to what is available at your Authorized Mercedes-Benz Dealer and probably inadequate.
If you want it fixed with the least amount of frustration take it to the dealer, They will fix it before they give it back.
Otherwise?' go to Autozone.

same problem
I am having the exact same problem with my 97 c230. It will work fine for 20 minutes,an hour, a day, then the same cylinder stops firing. Same cylinder also, closest to the firewall. The injector is not getting its signal. My mechanic tells me its the engine control module. In Canada thats $2100 from the dealer. Did you ever find out exactly what the problem was and how was it fixed. Any advice would be appreciated. thanks.
