Default 1995 C220 rattle noise in front of the engine

hi, if anyone can advise what it might be? Car iddles rough, rattle noise from the timing chain area, when RPM gets to 1100 and up everything seems to be ok...Noise is there only at low RPM....

water pump ok, looks like it is a timing chain sprocket...not sure %100

Right behind the belt, under the thick big hose there is a strut that goes down, it looks like a hydraulic thing by I beleve is a dampener.
Without getting your fingers caught in the belt, apply pressure to that strut and the noise should go away or change. Most likely that is the source of the noice and you can get a replacement for it for about $12 I believe provided that you can change it yourself. Otherwise have a mechanic put it on, and it shouldnt really be much work. it is a simple task.
The noice comes from the joint of the engine block and the strut, where the nut is, which wears out in time and vibrates with the vibration of the engine at idle or low RPM. notice that when you rev up the engine the rattling sound, more like a diesel engine sound to me, goes away.

you should get your engine fan checked a barring might be loose.

I have the same sound and found that when the throttle is applied that the tensioiner pully is rattling as well. Would the dampener cause this if it was bad? I was aable to reduce the rattling during idle by using washers in the space where the bushing went bad.
