I just bought a 2000 C280 sport and within 1 week it would not start. The engine turns fine and the lights all work. The following day I tried starting it and it started up with no problem. Drove it a few more days running great and then it wouldn't start. I waited a day and it started ran 1 day and then wouldn't start again. When it runs it runs great. I sprayed some starting fluid into the air filter and it started for a split second before it stalled wich indicates it was not getting fuel. So somedays it likes getting fuel and somedays it doesn't. Has anybody ever heard of this type of problem? Could someone please help me out with a solution? Thanks

 

Okay, could be a few things... you mentioned lack of Fuel... but, it could a lack of spark, or it could be a flat spot on your starter... Lack of fuel can come from a clogged fuel filter or bad fuel pump/relay. Lack of spark at 6yrs old could be more of a cuase. Had a tune up lately? A flat spot on the starter could be the cuase too, you said it turns over but wont start, the flat spot could be reaccuring at the same location on a normal basis... take it to a shop and they can look at it for like 70$...
