I'm considering buying one of these two cars in the next year and I have some questions. I would like to buy an 04 or newer AMG E Class sedan. I've owned a few non AMG models.

Are there a lot of added maintenance costs and expenses with the AMG models compared to say an E500 or E550?

Also how is the overall reliability on these as a daily driver compared to the more standard model E Class cars?

I would imagine the brake jobs would cost a lot more for parts but what else is there?

What does a new AMG guy need to know about owning one of these?
