Where is the fuel pump relay on my 1985 380SL?
I've tried a google search, and searching here, for a good answer to this question.
Google pointed to the area by the fuse panel near the passenger's right ankle. I have removed the small fuse cover, and the larger panel that the fuse cover is attached to. I can see several smaller relays. The fuel pump relay is supposed to be a larger black plastic relay, maybe 1" X 2" X 2-1/2" judging from the google pictures in comparison to other items in the area. The only one I see that looks like that is screwed to the compartment's wall. It is actually the five pin relay for the rear window defrost. I do not see the seven pin one for the fuel pump relay, part number 001 5455305. Might it be a different part on the '85 model? That was near the end of the W107 chassis run. Changes and improvements were made as they went along.
At my age, standing on my head under the dash is no longer any fun. Can anyone here help me out?
