whats up with this

got an s500 than cold runs when warms up shuts off starts back up then cold

You got a bad Crankshaft Position Sensor. They go bad when they get hot and stop sending a signal. With no position of the crankshaft, the car turns off. When it cools back down, it starts working again.

Likely th Crank Position Sensor CPS. DIY type job subject to competence.
However, get the codes read. CPS doesn't set any codes.

CPS do set codes sometimes. Any usually after you replace the CPS, you'll want to reset ring gear adaptations.

ty for that the info because thats what it does warms up nice shut off won,t start at all until cools off

can,t find cps

looking for the cps can,t seem to located looking for this item for 15 min today where is it located in an 2000 s500 .....

Upper LH bell housing ie back of engine near fire wall.
