i just bought a 1983 240d 4 cylinder non-turbo engine and manual transmission. i do not have the vin code, as it is no longer in the vehicle, in fact, i have never seen the car.

i know that these are famously slow engines at only 67hp, but does anyone know the torque output from this setup? i am looking to put it into a jeep truck which will be mostly relegated to off-road use, so i dont need speed, but some torque would be nice.

any info you have helps, this one is a lot different than my 93 300d turbo.

 

Engine output net: bhp/rpm=65/4200
torque net: lbs/rpm=97/2400

for a 240 d.
