What weight oil?
your best option is a multi-weight oil. The 15W-40 weight, regardless of which brand you use returns excellent oil sample results in most engines. A couple brands that are more note worthy of excellent oil samples are the Mobil Delvac and Chevron Supreme 15W-40's.
Hi y'all, I've been using 10w30 in my 240D for the last couple years. Should i not be using that weight oil? I haven't noticed it running any differently, i'm just curious if running this oil will damage the engine. Thanks!
I am looking at buying a 240D, I have a Dodge with the Cummins that I run Amsoil 15w40 Heavy Duty Diesel & Marine oil in now. If I was to get the 240D I will stay with the Amsoil.

Thanks,

John, I agree with your Amsoil recommendations. I've used their products for years. I will say that for less money Delvac and Chevron return excellent oil sample results. It all depends if you want a synthetic or regular dino oil....Can't go wrong with any of them....
Remember, ONLY use a C or diesel rated oil and most of the petro oils will be 15W40. The synths come in various weights, but 5W40 would be a good choice. DO NOT use regular gas motor oil (like 10w30) in your diesel.
AMSOIL offers preferred customer discounts too. This is the same as dealer cost.
John...Wow, I just noticed your a dealer too. I'm the link on the side bar. How's business
