Have just acquired a 1995 C280 from a friend and there is no owner manual. Took it to our usual mechanic for a check. (Not the MB dealer.) He says it is low on oil and isn't sure what weight to use for 1995 C280, Iowa, heading into winter season. We could ask the friend, but any recommendations from this group would be appreciated!

 

Congratulations on the car. I just bought the same year and model 2 months ago. I was told by the dealer and by my local Mercedes Benz that 15W40 (conventional) is the correct weight oil for this model. Best of luck.
