Default unstable idling

Has anyone experience rough idling on drive gear when the car is not warmed up? Once I drive for a couple of miles the idle seemed to stop. Any suggestion what might be causing it?

could be an air leek on the inlet somewhere, and when its warmed up the gap expandes andcloses or if its a more moden car it could be the tempature sender, to check for air leek get a spray tin of carbretta and fuel injection cleaner and with the engine running spray it around the inlet manifold and where carb or injector bolts on if the engine suddenly reves high then you have found the air leak,

Default car ceases to accelerate

I have a mercedes 200 e and a 1992 model. of late it has developed a problem. initially the car refused to pick up when i press the accelerator pedal. later on the sound of the engine changed unto a rrrrrrr kind of sound and not the normal smooth mercedes sound. I have changed my fuel divider/plug wires/idle switch/fuel pump/nozzles all to no avail. at the moment, when the car parks for a long time, i can start and it will move alright but after some five munites, the accelerator refuses to move it unless i park for some time. after some 30 minutes or thereabout it starts and move with difficulty only to stop and i can hear the firing . some one to kindly help me immediately. i would be very grateful to get a quick response.
