unidentivied sound
I have a 2000 E320. On an irregular basis, there is a clicking sound (similar to that of playing cards that kids place in bicycle spokes). the sound usually seems to come from behind/under the drivers seat. It occurs only for several seconds at a time and may not recur for weeks. There is nothing I can do to cause or stop the noise. I've tried to shut off the radio when the clicking starts, but I cannot tell whether it stops because the radio is off or whether it merely stops on its own.

Has anyone else experienced this unknown sound? Any solutions?/

thanks.

RE: unidentivied sound
I would guess it's radio static if it stops when you turn the radio off. If a sound is coming from a stereo in a car and you're sitting in a seat, it's very hard to pinpoint the source unless you have your ear right next to it. On the other hand, you have a limited number of speakers and they can be located easily.
