I recently bought an auto tranny from 1990 300TE, I was advised it was same unit as the 1990 190E 2.6 tranny I needed to replace. The local transmission shop said linkage not the same, kickdown, switch etc. not same, also won't bolt to driveshaft, different size flange. I was told this would work in same year 190E 2.6 and 260E. Am I misinformed, is the tranny shop right? My local MB service centers can't/won't give me any clarification what tranny will work in my car. Any advice?
