Default Tire Pressure Monitor

I have a 2006 S430. Everytime I start the car the message light reads "Tire Pres Monitor Reactive After Correcting Pressure". I believe my tire pressure is okay and I can make the message go away by pushing the Reset button. Also, sometimes the message "Tire Pres Monitor Not Operational Drive to Workshop" will come on. I am about to have new tires put on the car. My question is...when I have the new tires put on can I just have them remove the monitors in the wheel as opposed to have to replace them too? Im assuming the battery life of those monitors have expired. If I do that, will those messages continue to appear? Thanks, Mike

Yes the battery life is more than likely expired..the messages will still appear unless the tpm is coded out of the Icluster ,teleaid but that dealer could face a lawsuit..

Thanks for the response. I have ordered the new TMPS's...the 315 MHz. I hope that means that when I get them installed they won't need any further "calibration". Thanks again for your help

I hope a dealer installs them they will need to enter the tpmonitors serial numbers into the tpmodule an code them to the corresponding wheel an set the threshold as far as what psi to trigger a low pressure fault...

^^True the sensors are bit costly, but we can help you offset those costs a bit by shopping for genuine parts at dealer alternatives like here: Pelican Parts.com - Parts, Accessories and Technical Information for all Mercedes-Benz Automobiles.
