Default Timing chain for 6 cylinder in my '85 300 SL

Dear fellow enthusiasts - I am looking to replace the timing chain in a recently purchased 1985 euro spec 300 SL. Engine type is a 6 cylinder M103-982 model. I understand that most US SL models can exchange body parts, but the engines are all V-8. What model US has a similar engine that I can quote parts for mine?

Im also looking for brake pads and filters for maintenance work.

Thank you for your time in helping me out.

Contact Rusty at www.buymparts.biz.

I believe all 103 engines have the same timing chain and rails, but he should be able to verify.

Thanks Fred for your input. I sent Rusty a message and am waiting for his reply. If what you say is true, then you´ve lifted a big load off my shoulders

Fred, thank you. Rusty has answered and says that the E300 model from ´86-89 are compatible. Quoting him prices now.

Thanks again for your valuable information.

Glad I could help. Dealing with Rusty is generally painless, other than paying for the parts!
