2000 C280 with 59,000 miles.When I turn the wheel to the left only it makes like a growing sound. I just had a power sterring service thinking it was that but it still makes a funny sound for some reason.Help!

 

I have a similar problem with my 1999 C280. Except, mine does it in both directions. I took it to my local garage and they said it was the 'steering damper'. (It looks like a shock absorber.) They took it off and greased up the inner rod and the noise when away.....for a couple of months, anyway.
The noise is coming back and I'm thinking about replacing the steering damper myself. $50...cheap.
