I have a 1980 300SD that has an inch or two of slack in the steering wheel that I trace to the steering box. I adjusted both bearing adjustments (on the pitman arm shaft and on the steering wheel shaft) and the slack remains. I suspect the power steering torque sensor in the steering box has malfunctioned. Where can I get a diagram (parts blow up) of the steering box. Has anyone had one of these apart?
