Snow Tires
I bought a 1997 300E (diesel) earlier this year when the weather was nice. Now, it is is not so nice. Snow arrived this morning (I live in upstate NY)and will likely last until March or so. I haven't driven a rear wheel drive car since my parents 1985 Caprice Classic (sweet car). Neverthless, I want to be smart and purchase some quality snow tires. Unfortunately, I have no idea what quality truly means when it comes to snow tires. I'd like to buy something that works for the car, but don't want to get hosed by buying a name brand instead of a quality brand. Any brand/model recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Should I be putting snow tires just on the back? Should I get studded tires? Can you even buy studded tries in NY (I swear I remember being told they were illegal)?

RE: Snow Tires
Tire rack sells new tires mounted on wheels as a package deal. Blizzak tires worked well for me when we lived in Albany. Go to www.tirerack.com
