Audio 10 CD in PROD mode
Hi guys,
I just bougt and installed a Audio 10 cd in my 2002 C200 and it sounds perfect - for about 20 seconds then it goes into PROD mode.
Can this issue only be solved at a MB dealership or is there something I can co about it myself ?
Thanks in advance

Hi All,
Went around the world trying to get this one sorted, eventually ended up having to take it merc dealer. They explained that these CD units themselves are not coded rather it is the car computer that is programmed to recognise the unit. If the unit is out of the car for any real length of time it will go into 'PROD' mode, it's a security feature. I tried all sorts of short cuts disconnecting the -ive terminal on the cars battery for half hour, in the hope that the whole thing would re-set and re-recognise the unit, but no good. In the end had to go to merc, i was expecting a really big bill, though i was pleasantly surprised, they ran a diagnostics check identified and fixed the stereo programming problem, washed and waxed car and hovered and polished inside for £38.00, so not bad at all, i think.
Hope this is of use to someone.
