Hi,

I've a C250 TD 1997, whenever I turn on the ignition the wiper starting automatically and won't stop, till I switch it to position 1 and the heating fans aren't working. If I do, the it'll stop in 30 sec. So my mechanic checked the switch and it looks ok, finally he found out that the black box under the fuse table (I think called SAM) has water damage on it somehow, he thinks if we replace that, it will solve the problem. But he think, if we replace that, I'll need new keys as well as it looks like that's controlling the immobiliser as well.
Could anyone please tell me, if we're right, or can it be sorted out, without changing that box?
