Replacing Sport/Comfort Switch in 08 C350

I need help with replacing the sport/comfort switch in my 2008 C350 as I don't want to just start pulling things apart ***** nilly. Anyone here ever removed the shift indicator plate, thereby revealing the switch?

Is it the new 204 body??? also what happened to the switch? It may be warranty...
