I have a 1984 Mercedes 300SD and my wife has a 1985 Mercedes 380SL. We would like to upgrade our radios. Can anyone advise on possible upgrades that will retrofit into our existing chassis and maintain our OEM integrity?

 

Let me break this down for you. Dont go back to mercedes as a background for a radio, germans suck for electrical, mechanical on the other hand, do i need say more, you're driving a 84 and a 85. I myself drive a 87 300E. If you want to upgrade, go after market, look into the Pioneer 770series. I have one in my car. MP3 Compatible, sub outlets, remote, how much more luxury can you get?
I used to have a problem with the stock head unit, it would turn on and then the volume would stick for weeks on end, only when it was in the lower volumes tho.
