Puff of oil smoke

Puff of oil smoke
In the past I've noticed that when I first fire up my 2005 CLK500 (18M miles) I could smell just a tinge of oil smoke. The other day the temp had dropped to a low of about 20 degrees and when I fired the motor, there was a noticeable puff of blue smoke. The car was in the garage at the time and had not been driven for a couple of days other than I pulled it out to wash it the day before.
Is this a problem? I am not aware of excess oil usage since the oil has been changed only two times since new.
Thanks!
